Rental Requests

Submitting a rental request through this website does not guarantee equipment availability. A rental is confirmed only after Montauk Surf & Sports contacts you and confirms your request.

Shop Pickup

All rental equipment must be picked up and returned at the Montauk Surf & Sports shop, unless our staff specifically approve another arrangement.

Identification / Payment

Identification, payment and/or a security deposit may be required before equipment is released to you. Specific amounts will be communicated by our staff at the time of pickup.

Customer Responsibility

Once equipment is in your possession, you are responsible for it. Equipment should be returned:

• On time

• With all components and accessories provided

• In substantially the same condition in which it was received, ordinary wear excepted

Lost / Stolen Equipment

You may be responsible for equipment and accessories that are lost, stolen or go missing while in your possession.

Damaged Equipment

You may be responsible for repair or replacement costs associated with damage that occurs during your rental period. Examples include:

Surf / Paddle Equipment:

• Broken fins

• Lost or damaged leashes

• Cracks or board damage

• Missing parts

Bike Equipment:

• Flat tires

• Bent rims

• Lost components

• Damage occurring during the rental

• Missing accessories

Specific repair or replacement costs will be communicated by our staff based on the equipment and damage involved.

Rental Time

Equipment must be returned by the agreed return time. Please speak with our staff about your specific return time when you pick up your equipment.

Proper Use / Safety

Please follow the equipment instructions and safety information provided by Montauk Surf & Sports, and use equipment only for its intended purpose.

Weather / Conditions

Outdoor and water activities depend on weather, surf and local conditions, which can change quickly. Montauk Surf & Sports cannot guarantee that conditions will be appropriate for equipment use at any given time.
